About the Role
Role Overview
The Child & Youth Engagement Liaison (CYEL) is responsible for facilitating engaging, inclusive weekend programs for children and youth enrolled in our services. This role is all about connection, creativity, and presence.
CYELs work directly with participants to create fun, meaningful experiences that support skill-building, confidence, and community—without clinical or behavioral pressure.
This position involves minimal paperwork and prioritizes relationship-building above all else.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate weekend group programming (in-person and/or virtual)
Co-create and run engaging activities alongside a supervisor
Foster safe, welcoming, and inclusive group environments
Prioritize participant engagement, joy, and connection
Support skill-building through play, creativity, and shared activities
Communicate with families regarding participant experiences and progress
Log participant attendance and engagement
Provide a brief post-program summary via email (attendance, highlights, any concerns)
Schedule
Every Saturday: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
One additional weekday: 3–4 hours (program planning, prep, or support)
Requirements
Experience working with children and/or youth with Autism, ADHD, Developmental Delay, or Intellectual Disability is an asset
Non-judgmental, Trauma Informed Approach
Ability to work independently while staying connected to a team
Strong ability to facilitate, create, and lead engaging group activities
Enthusiastic, motivated, and outgoing personality
Comfortable building genuine relationships with participants and families
Flexible, adaptable, and open to learning and unlearning
